Dry leaves and broken earthenware,
All that's left of us,
forever chasing the surf.
The breeze, so gentle flutters
upon an upturned face
And then a wave washes over
dragging us, so powerfully helpless
deeper and under
The eddies swirl and turn
The blues and greens shatter and merge
As our shimmery eyes stretch wide
Cool, so cool, the colour flows
Above, below and all 'round
Life pulses, throbs, merges
Heartbeats in sync
till we flow together:
Limbs, leaves, colour, coral
fins and floating debris.
We are,
I am,
drowning in each other;
and I reach upwards and fly with dolphins.
